If you don’t own these you are a Pinko Communist!

January 22, 2020 By Manish

Yes, yes I love to share music with everyone. So, I am back once again to list 10 great albums everyone should own (in no particular order):

1)Critter’s Buggin’- Guest
Man this is a crazy cd. Released in 1993 this cd blends phat funky beats, wailing saxophones, and mean rythmns. Definitely a musician’s band, these guys excel at their instruments to send a rockin’ jazz vibe up where the sun don’t shine. These Critters will leave you buggin’.

2)John Mayer- Room for Squares
Yeah, yeah I know, I’m not a 16 year hippie chick but this guy rocks. Very original grooves and lyrics that’ll get you laid everytime. Honestly, give the whole cd a listen your toes will be tappin’.

3)Audioslave- Audioslave
Good God, this cd kicked me in ass even before I took the shrinkwrap off. Anytime you get a shrieker like Chris Cornell and a pissed off band like Rage you know good times are around the corner.

4)Nickel Creek – This Side
These guys are bringing bluegrass to the pop avenue and it seems to be working. These cats widdle and fiddle away at the speed of light, while at the same time put out some very pop oriented songs that really suck you in….and no the kid from Deliverance is not in the band.

5) Incubus- Morning View
Rockin and rollin’ and whatnot. These guys kick in hard. The drums have that drum n bass feel, while the bass holds down the funk with the phatness and the vox send you out into the farthest reachest of rock w/out making you wear all black and hate your parents.

6)311 – Music
Yeah the first one, before they sold ou….ahem..changed avenues. Hard edge funk mixed w/ heavy beats and whitebread rap. It’s the ultimate dance, trip out, chill, and groove cd. Every track has a different flava. God, I miss those days. Listen to how tinny SA’s voice is….

7)Cirque du Soeil – La Nouba
I’m sure you’ve all heard of Cirque. Those crazy canucks from up north have produced an earth shattering show down here in Fl and it’s awesome! So much to to see and hear! Anywho, the music penned for this attraction is simply spectacular. It’s a touch of electronic mixed w/ some rock and a whole lotta groove.

8) Stan Getz/Joao Gilberto
recorded March,1963
If you ever need a cd to relax to, this is it! Opening w/ that standard favorite “The Girl from Ipanema,” this cd takes me back to Rio in the 60’s (eventhough I wasn’t alive yet). Very easy listening jazz. Perfect for that warm summer day on the boat, but don’t fall asleep or you’ll burn your butt.

9) Dave Matthews Band – Live at Folsom Field
I know, I know, you hear one live Dave cd and you’ve heard them all. Well, screw you this is my article. I love those guys.

10) Frank Sinatra – The Best of the Capitol Years.
What can I say? This man is my God. He could sing, was in the mob, bought and sold people like cattle, and had any woman that he wanted. Yup, I’m speechless too.

There, done, finite. As you can see my musical taste is diversified. As yours should be too. If you see a genre on this list that you normally wouldn’t listen to, go check it out. Perhaps, you’ll be surprised.
